With Manitoba officially entering Phase 4 of the Province’s Restoring Safe Services initiative, another major indoor Westman entertainment facility officially returns this weekend after a more than four month hiatus.
Sand Hills Casino re-opened its doors at 11am on Saturday morning, operating within new provincial rules that permit 30% capacity in lieu of the ongoing pandemic response.
On the dining side, the casino’s lounge will be open but the buffet will not be available according to a post on the its social media page.
The facility located just off of Highway 5 between Carberry and Glenboro had temporarily closed on March 18 during the initial pandemic response.
Winnipeg’s South Beach Casino and Resort also re-opened on Saturday morning, to be joined by Winnipeg’s Club Regent and McPhillips Station casinos next week.
In addition to casinos, movie theatres are now also permitted to re-open with 30% capacity. Some Winnipeg theatres have opened doors this weekend with Brandon’s Landmark Capitol Theatre planning a July 31 return.
