Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting and internal financial controls of MASC. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, supports strategic financial planning and maintains integrity of financial data. The Comptroller possesses a strong commitment to the organization and customer service excellence to maintain the credibility of the organization and the programs it offers.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Current and active Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Several years of progressive leadership experience in a financial services area 
  • Experience with financial statement preparation
  • Experience with year-end audits
  • Experience interpreting and analyzing financial information and providing advice to senior management
  • Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Experience developing, enforcing and monitoring internal controls
  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) in a cloud-based environment
  • Ability to assess risk, detect errors and ensure accuracy 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively deliver services in a high volume and tight deadline environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Experience with fund accounting is an asset
  • Experience with Business Central is an asset

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must have the ability to travel within the Province of Manitoba as required
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required

 

SALARY: $110,812 to $136.231 per annum
