Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Mechanic to safety, maintain and repair our fleet of trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment used in moving and bridge construction operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in keeping equipment safe, operational, and job-site ready.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain company vehicles and equipment
- Perform Safety, preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and construction equipment
- Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Repair hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and powertrain systems
- Troubleshoot breakdowns on-site when required
- Maintain service records and maintenance logs
- Ensure tools and work areas are kept clean and safe
- Work closely with operators and supervisors to minimize downtime
Requirements
- Certified Journeyperson Mechanic with Truck/Trailer safety inspection certificate
- Experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Physically capable of working in shop and field environments
- Valid driver?s license
- Strong commitment to safety
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Experience with bridge construction or heavy civil equipment
- Welding or fabrication skills
- Experience with cranes, excavators, loaders, or specialized transport equipment
- Safety certifications (WHMIS, fall protection, confined space)
