Position Summary
Sioux Valley Dakota Nation is seeking a skilled and motivated Capital & Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of major community infrastructure projects. This role oversees initiatives such as housing development, road construction, water systems, community buildings, recreation facilities, and other capital projects that support long-term community growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead capital and infrastructure projects from initial planning through to completion.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, engineers, and external partners.
- Monitor project progress, timelines, quality control, and expenditures.
- Prepare funding applications and manage reporting requirements for funding agencies.
- Administer tenders, RFPs, contracts, and procurement processes.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Support long-term capital planning and infrastructure asset management.
- Engage with leadership, community members, and government partners regarding project priorities and updates.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Project Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Infrastructure Planning, Public Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing capital or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities or governments is an asset.
- Knowledge of federal infrastructure funding programs is highly desirable.
- Strong project management, budgeting, procurement, and communication skills.
- Understanding of First Nations governance and community engagement practices.
- Certifications such as PMP, Engineering Technologist, Gold Seal Certification, or asset management training are considered assets.
