Salary: $21/hr honorarium

The Athletics Department is seeking a reliable and outgoing individual who has a passion for sports! This part-time position is an important part of the Athletics Department and key to ensuring those attending and participating in Cougars game days and events have a great experience. The successful candidate is responsible for a variety of duties related to the successful planning and execution of game day operations. This includes providing direction to other game day event staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support planning efforts for game days and events that create exceptional athlete and fan experiences.
  • Support the implementation of a community engagement strategy that includes coordinating community group attendance and booth sponsor bookings at games.
  • Preparing for game day (e.g., prepping admissions kits, organizing promo items/giveaways, etc.).
  • Complete a variety of game day set-up activities (e.g., equipment, signage, gate admissions area, live stream, etc.).
  • Oversee in-game activities/staff (e.g., score clock, game sheet, track stats, music/sound, etc.).
  • Take in-game video and photos for social media.
  • Supporting post-game activities as needed (e.g., equipment teardown and general clean-up, submitting game sheets, creating and uploading final score posts, etc.).

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in and/or a passion for sport.
  • Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills.  
  • Ability to work independently but thrive in team environment.
  • Have the ability to carry out equipment set up on game days (25 lbs).
  • Strong communications skills ? written and verbal.
  • Experience or strong comfort engaging with social media and photography.
  • Preference given to current Assiniboine College students.
