About the Role
Westman Lumber Supply Ltd. is seeking an experienced Kitchen Designer & Sales Consultant to help homeowners and contractors plan and purchase kitchen projects. In this client-facing role, you will consult with customers, develop kitchen layouts and 3D designs using kitchen design software, recommend suitable products, and prepare quotes and sales orders.
You will also assist customers with finishing products such as flooring, tile, paint, lighting, and plumbing. The ideal candidate brings hands-on kitchen design experience, strong customer service and sales skills, and the ability to guide customers from initial consultation through to purchase.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience designing kitchens and preparing customer-ready layouts and 3D renderings.
- Proficiency with 2020 Design or comparable kitchen design software.
- Ability to interpret floor plans and work with project measurements.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Sales ability, including confidence discussing product options, preparing quotes, and following up with customers.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Duties
- Meet with customers to understand their kitchen project needs, preferences, budget, and timeline.
- Review floor plans and project information, take or confirm measurements, and develop functional kitchen layouts.
- Create and present kitchen plans and 3D renderings using 2020 Design or comparable kitchen design software.
- Recommend cabinetry, countertops, hardware, and related products to suit each project.
- Revise designs in response to customer feedback and coordinate design details as needed.
- Prepare accurate quotes, sales orders, and customer follow-ups.
- Assist customers with selecting finishing products, including flooring, tile, paint, lighting, and plumbing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, contractors, and suppliers.
- Maintain product knowledge and contribute to an organized, well-presented showroom.
- Collaborate with team members to support a positive customer experience.
The following experience and qualifications will be considered an asset
- Post-secondary education or formal training in kitchen and bath design, interior design, architectural technology, or a related field.
- Experience selling cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, plumbing, lighting, or other finishing products.
- Knowledge of residential construction, building materials, and installation considerations.
Compensation and Benefits
- $50 000 - $65 000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
