Westman Building Components is a locally owned and operated manufacturer of wood trusses and building components. We're looking for a dependable, safety-minded Sawyer to join our production team, operating our automatic saw and a manual pull saw
The role:
- Set up and operate saws to cut lumber for truss production.
- Read cutting lists and follow production instructions.
- Check lumber sizes, lengths, angles, and quality to ensure accurate cuts.
- Sort, label, and organize cut components for the assembly crews.
- Keep materials flowing so production stays on schedule.
- Perform routine equipment checks and housekeeping, and report maintenance concerns.
- Follow safe operating procedures and maintain a clean work area.
What we?re looking for:
- Experience operating saws in a truss plant, lumber operation, or manufacturing setting is an asset.
- Strong measuring skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and safety.
- Comfortable handling lumber and working on your feet.
- Reliable attendance, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with a team.
- Valid class 5 License
