The Kootenay Ice and Wheat Kings play their first of several head-to-head games this season. Although it's a new year and a clean slate, the Wheat Kings always seen to have Kootenay's number. Not sure if it's just the way each team's style of play matches up or if it's just luck, but we'll see if it continues tonight.
The Wheat Kings will be looking to win back-to-back games for the first time on this homestand (3 wins, 3 losses).
Matt Calvert will be looking to extend his point scoring streak to eight games. His 7 game streak (4+7=11) is the 15th longest in the WHL and 7th longest in the Eastern Conference so far this season
