Michael Liambis suspended for the rest of season, fair, too much, or too little?

Michael Liambis of the Erie Otters in the OHL was suspended for his hit on Ben Fanelli. The term of his suspension was the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs, meaning the next game he is even eligible to play won't be until September, 2010. Personally, I think the length of his suspension is completely absurd, especially considering under current rules, it was a legal hit.
What does everyone else think of his suspension?
