As I'm sure many have heard, this past week Braden Pettinger, a 20 year old from Souris, suffered a life altering injury while playing hockey with the Portage Terriers. After falling awkwardly headfirst into the boards, Pettinger is left paralyzed from the chest down. Many different supports have been set up to help Braden and his family, including a benefit social on December 26 in Souris and donations from the Bantam Cougars and the Virden Oil Caps. There is also a GoFundMe set up to help cover medical costs for Braden and his family. The original goal was to raise $1000, and since yesterday $46000 has already been raised!
