Snowmobile Club's Worst Nightmare
2/1/2016 at 9:46 AM
The Sprucewoods Snowdrifters Snowmobile Club has been dealt a bad blow from Mother Nature, bless her heart. She gave us just enough snow to get a couple of trail groomings in, we put up signs in minus 30 weather, finally opened up the trails and then big winds and warm temperatures. Our signs fell over, the trails disappeared. On Saturday January 30 we picked them all up again, so we do not lose them or get them damaged. So here we are at square one. I am the recording secretary for the club and wanted to quickly explain all the hundreds of volunteer hours of work that is done by snowmobile clubs to provide safe trails to ride on. There is an executive who work constantly governing and organizing the clubs events and tasks, the signers who put signs and do trail maintenance, the groomers who spend hundreds of hours a year grooming which is mostly done at night. The past executive who still work tirelessly to help the club. And a big thank you To the people who came out Saturday to help the club who weren't even members. I just want to say a huge thank-you again for all the efforts by the gals and guys who help keep this club running. If it wasn't for these people our club would not be what it is today. Is our club throwing in the towel? No not in the least. We are set to go. We are still trying to hold two derbies if we get snow. So if anyone out there has Mother Nature's e-mail address please let our club know we need to get in contact with her!! Until then pray for snow!! Ride Safe!
