Interesting that they give away jerseys at the games in MJ. I wonder if somebody sponsors that or if the team does it themselves?

Last nights game was good.,no problems with sound and picture. Brandon announcer (Bruce) does a excellent play by play,,i find him very neutral in regards to calling the game..Just my two cents worth ,,thank you

Just watched the highlights on the Wheat Kings' web site for the last four games. The Moose Jaw commentator makes me laugh in the most recent two.

Looks like Rebels/Pats will be going to a game 7 on Tuesday to decide who comes to Brandon this weekend. Shoe on the other foot from last round where the Wheat Kings will have had the longer break... Will it be a beat up and tired team coming in, or a team at the top of its game coming out of such a close series?

I've never been big on saying that there's a team you'd rather see (anyone that gets this far will have not done it by fluke), but one thing it would be hard to argue against are the road trip possibilities for each team's fans if it does end up being the Pats.

Just a comment to add to alan123. I listen to more games than I go to and always feel like I get the next best thing to being there listening to Bruce Lubke and Pete Gerlinger, Bruce does an above average job ( actually an excellent job) calling the game and Pete adds some knowledgeable tidbits during the game and even more between periods. I'm surprised that Bruce hasn't moved on to something bigger but I'm glad he hasn't .

Rebels it is.
No secret the season series had its share of peaks and valleys.
The 10-0 loss in January generated more discussion than any game this year and one could argue was a turning point in the Wheat Kings' season.
End result was the two teams splitting the four head-to-head games with Brandon winning the last two.
Two rounds of playoffs have a way of changing teams... we'll see what kind of series we have on the weekend!

Wow talk about heartbreak for the royals. Win the eddie and out in the second round. It just shows, to be the champs you gotta beat the champs. Im really surprised at how good Kelowna is after losing a bunch of core guys last year and injuries to Whistle, Merkeley.

If you had told me the Pats would come within a goal of making the ECF back at Christmas, I would've laughed you out of the room. With almost all returning, that Brandon-Regina rivalry should be a good one next year.

All the rebels fans want to talk about is that 10-0 game back in Jan, never mind we beat them 4-0 two weeks later and 2-1 again before the season was over. It would be nice for some redemption to bounce the mem cup hosts. This will be our toughest test yet, a physical team liked Edmonton but with a world class D in Fleury, and some high end scoring to boot. I like Brandon in 6 or 7, showing our depth matters.

Hats off to the boys for getting the first win despite the unbelievably one-sided refereeing tonight. Those refs tonight were a joke.

Honestly I was more disappointed in us taking two (2!) bench minors for too many men. We have to be more disciplined. Yeah the refs missed a couple on both sides but thats just hockey.

The game last night was entertaining as they come! It seems the wheatkings have a penchant for not playing "wheatking hockey" in game 1 of the series, then storming back. We'll see if that holds true.

For anyone wanting to watch the games it is on shaw (picked up by WCG TV) or it is shown at tav, joe beevs, smittys forsure that I know about. Go Wheatkings!

The Shaw feed of the series is broadcasted on Westman's WCG tv if you or a friend are with Westman.
Failing that the league sells access to online streaming on its website.

not to be a homer here,but i think Brandon got totally hosed on that non goal.Cant see what the officials saw after..Even shaw commentater after goal was scored stated what a great tip in that was..Just saying,,

really happy to see Jordan bounce back. He usually does pretty well in game after scenarios. They absolutely outplayed red deer in the second and didn't get rewarded but nice to see them finish it in the third. Hard to say there was a kicking motion on a slapper that fast I think Nolan got shortchanged but what can ya do. Lets finish off these rebs on Friday!

I thought the same - sure he turned his foot, but you're allowed to do that. There was no distinct kicking motion, and to overturn the call on the ice there has to be clear evidence of that. Blown call.

Quite the hot ticket tonight... from the Keystone Tickets site there are just two separate single tickets available for anyone that's okay sitting on their own. Then standing room after that. An unusual amount of Wanted ads popping up in the Tickets category!
