I have my CPR and will be getting my H2S on Sept 3rd. Anyone know of companies close to Brandon I could get a good job at with these tickets? Is it too late in the season to be hired? Can Start ASAP! Thanks

There are no jobs.....with oil under $50, companies aren't drilling. There are only a handful of guys lucky enough to have their rig running. No one is hiring.

There are construction, manufacturing, pipeline labourers maintenance, security, drivers, etc. These companies that would consider you also. I will send you some job information via inbox.

$41/barrel and dropping, projected to go into the 30s.  
 
I'm sure there's still jobs to be found in that industry, but don't waste your time applying to drillers, or service rigs either for that matter, as laid off drillers will be first in line for those jobs.

As someone who grew up in Alberta, in an oilfield family and area just a bit of advice. Seek out other work in the oilfield related to maintenance, service etc. Drilling is too sporadic. Yes the $$ can be there, if you factor it on average over the course of months, a year, years etx with the downtime you get the real picture. Steady reliable work in maintenance or service will give stability and some good $$$. Back home people who grew up in the area don't work rigs.....they work these other areas and always manage. The out of towners always come in chasing the oilfield dream on the rigs......and are always eventually gone shortly after. I'm sure some guys from the rigs will tell you different, but take it for what you will.
