Classifieds

Cant speak for other sites, but as far as eBrandon the employers I talk to are generally quite happy with the exposure and results relative to the cost.
When such a big amount of the population of Westman are on this site an ad goes pretty far in terms of reach (average number of job ad views over the last month is 829). The main thing to keep in mind (and I imagine this applies to anywhere that jobs are advertised) is that every job and business are unique. Some jobs such as general skill/labour jobs are bound to get more replies while other jobs with a very specific skillset are naturally only going to be a fit for a smaller subset of people and will get less overall replies.
A few other points.....
- the Jobs category is consistently in the top 2 categories in the classifieds for usage
- Whether its a job, house, service or standard free ad the big benefit of posting in the classifieds is the word of mouth factor. Because of how many jobs there are, a lot of people that are looking for work will naturally check out that category. Because of how many other people are regularly on eBrandon for other reasons, you get the dynamic of people seeing something that might interest a friend and sharing it with them. This word of mouth factor is to me especially important for specialized jobs where the potential candidate may not be actively looking for a change
- as an added value thing, have recently started pushing out links to many jobs posted on eBrandon's new Brandon Manitoba Jobs page on Facebook. There are 1000+ followers on that page that give a little extra exposure still.
- I've been told that the cost is cheap but there is also the option for businesses that post a lot of jobs to pay $99/year to have an account that lets them post unlimited jobs
Another option that some businesses rely on for help with hiring is WestCan Human Resource Solutions/BrandonJobs.com.
