I'm trying to help my daughter is under the age of 14. It's has been a hair pulling year. We throw our hands up and we were offered a once in a life time opportunity. She is being offered a summer at camp in bc all summer to gain new perspective and compassion and I know attitudes don't change with teens but she's so down the wrong path we are afraid. So I'm trying to get her out to bc. And cupons would be great to help with the 700+ flight there. I am desperate please any help. I have a cupon for a free night at a hotel I can trade or something.

I have to have her on a plane for June 30

sent me a seat sale in their newsletter. They've always had great ticket prices. And I've flown with them multiple times. Very reliable.

Is a little expensive for me for a one way. I just have to get her out there. I'm pretty desperate

Air Canada is less than 1/2 of the $700, so you should be good to go if you book early.

$700 seems more like round trip than one way, however If she''s under 14 she may have to travel as an unaccomanied minor which probably increases the costs over what you find when just searching for flight costs online. Plus last time we looked into it there were restrictions such as it has to be a direct flight and between certain hours. But that was a few years ago, things may have changed.

Do not send this young lady alone all the way out the BC. I agree it sounds like a great opportunity for her to get some help, but please have someone accompany her there to make sure that she has support back home and, more importantly, that she gets to this camp safely. At that age they think they know it all, and I fear if she was left alone, she would end up a "runaway." Do you have any kind of a relationship with a bank/credit union for a small loan, or a church, or relatives for a small loan? Remember she is still a kid. I wish I could help financially, but we just don't have it to spare right now.

After reading your post I stopped and thought about it. I agree wit you completely. It could end badly, Good point!

perhaps they have ways of getting you discounted fares? I would look for the same type of Camp here in Manitoba, maybe the CATC can help you find something closer to home, and more affordable.

They've got a 24 hour seat sale on right now. I just searched and found a round trip ticket for 564. Plus, Vancouver airport has a sky train station in the parking lot. That links right into the major points in the city. Depending on where your daughter is going in the city. I was living out there for a few years, and have seen young adults or teenagers alike travelling on their own. I can help with directions if you pm me.
