We have tried several Counsellors in town but feel like we would benefit from one that shares our faith as it is a big part of our lives. We could talk to a pastor at a church but we do want a person who is trained to counsel people. I imagine that most Counsellors would not be allowed to really let their personal faith influence their counselling but I feel like we can’t connect when they don’t understand how our faith influences our life. I feel like I’m looking for a needle in a haystack but hoping that someone could recommend a good Counsellor that happens to be a Christian as well.

The Counselling Centre in town is/was a faith based organization, they were founded on faith based principles. I'm not sure if any of their counselors are specifically faith based but I would recommend checking them out if you haven't already.

Have you spoken to your minister? I know that several times my pastor has helped me or sent me to someone who did help.

No counsellor, a Christian counsellor or not, will help if in your marriage the two of you are not 100% into working on the marriage.  
 
If perchance there is an affair still on going, counselling will be a total waste of time. My ex 'wanted' to have counselling but when he was still in the affair, no counselling or counsellor could help our marriage.

Yes, I would also suggest the Counselling Centre. We were matched up with a counsellor of the same faith as us, and it was tremendously helpful.

They are members in good standing with the Professional Association of Christian Counsellors & Psychotherapist.
