There seem to be quite a few companies out there offering health insurance plans to cover pres:criptions, physiotherapy, massage therapy, dental, eye, etc. expenses if you are not on a company health benefit plan. I am currently on a Blue Cross plan but the premium is high in comparison to the benefits I am getting out of it. I am wondering if there is anyone out these who has any who could recommend an alternate insurance provider?

Have you tried an insurance broker, such as Guild? They would have access to a variety of plans and could help you pick the best one that suits your needs.  
 
Be aware, however, that plans do tend to be expensive. A lot of people who have plans through work will have the employer pay part or all off the premiums, so makes us perceive that it's "cheaper", when in fact it may not.

Is everyone over 29 I think the age is. I know Blue Cross has a very affordable GenX plan for young people and their families. There are many options out there. Yes going private from work is a big difference since companies subsidize part of the fees. Also make note of options. We don't have glass coverage as the increase in monthly payments was more than it is to outright buy glasses.
