concerned mom said "Does anyone else find it ironic that all school staff will still be going to work? Say 1 person on staff gets it and then they spread it to the rest of the staff and then everyone there has to be quarantined for additional time. Does this not defeat the whole purpose? I am sure they can work from home. Everyone is going to be madly cleaning the schools, which is great and needed, but the virus only lasts for up to 3 days on surfaces. If the building is closed completely then there is no worry about getting it upon return. However, if a staff member gets it and continues to go to work and get everyone else sick, then the virus continues to spread. "
Everyone is still going to work at the moment. Grocery store employees, pharmacy, dentists, healthcare, gas stations, etc, etc etc. Why shouldn’t teachers?
They are eliminating the students due to numbers, and social limiting. This isn’t because it’s in the schools, it’s to stop the spread. So if all teachers need to stay home to make sure they don’t get it from other staff, they also won’t go to a store, get groceries, gas, etc? They will 100% self quarantine for these 3 weeks? Cause they could pick it up more from those places, than being around a handful of staff members. Just my opinion.
