Reported new cases: 18. This represents the lowest PMH new daily case count reported in two weeks (May 3, 14 cases). This follow’s yesterday’s highest-in-two-weeks total of 43.

In Manitoba as a whole, the province is reporting 430 new cases of COVID-19 and a five day test positivity rate of 12.7% in Manitoba. This is the highest positivity rate of this third wave and highest of 2021.  
 
Today’s data has 52.3% of the adult population now having received at least one vaccine shot.

“A new Fast Pass site opens in Brandon on Wednesday, May 19, for eligible school staff and those working in licensed child-care centres. The site will be co-located with the existing Brandon Keystone Centre site at 1175 18th St. Appointments are required and can be booked starting tomorrow (May 18) by calling (toll-free) 1-888-986-8152. The site has capacity for up to 40 people daily and hours of operation are listed online. Clients will be asked if they meet eligibility criteria and to present proof of eligibility such as a work identification card or employer letter when they arrive for their appointment. Side note, got my Pfizer dose one at Keystone site today. Well-oiled machine, easy in, easy out, I didn't even realize it was in my arm until it was out!

An apparent bug on the provincial vaccine page has data not available on the percentage of adults vaccinated as of the time of this posting. Today’s vaccine bulletin has a total of 714,012 adults having received one shot, resulting percentage unknown.

In Manitoba as a whole, the province is today reporting 476 new cases of COVID-19 and a five day test positivity rate of 14.3% in Manitoba. This represents the highest the provincial positivity rate has been to-date.  
 
Today’s data has 57.6% of the adult population or 47.8% of the population age 12 and over now having received at least one vaccine shot. Of note if this is correct, data shows a whopping 48,561 doses scheduled today (727,166 doses are showing as having been administered in total since vaccinations began).

The increase of six is Brandon’s lowest since at least May 6 when the total was reduced by eight. The three day increase for the city is +26.

I see that the provincial vaccine data page lets you see vaccine uptake by region. Prairie Mountain is showing as having 53.6% uptake. Here's what it's showing as of now for each of the districts within PMH:

The Province has published Monday's COVID-19 data on the dashboard. No media release has been issued as of now, which I believe will be related to today being a holiday.  
 
A local perspective on data released today is below:  
 
BRANDON:    
Total cases on dashboard: 1363 (+5)  
Active cases on dashboard: 97 (-2)    
Recoveries on dashboard: 1242 (+6)  
Deaths: 24 (+1)     

This is the first Brandon district death since April 13.
In terms of increase in cases, three of the past four days have increased by single-digits. This is the first time that has occurred in May. For wider perspective, based on my calculations on the daily data the trailing average of increases over the past seven days is 10.71 with that average having been in double-digits only twice this year before this third wave.

This is the first day-to-day reduction in the rate since May 13th, granted a small one. For wider perspective, this is still the second-highest rate of the pandemic following yesterday’s high and the previous two drops were proceeded by additional legs up.  
 
Today’s data has 59.2% of the adult population or 54.8% of the population age 12 and over now having received at least one vaccine shot. Prairie Mountain Health is showing as having a vaccine uptake rate of 54.4%, the Brandon district being at 63.3%

Today’s data has 60.3% of the adult population or 55.8% of the population age 12 and over now having received at least one vaccine shot. Prairie Mountain Health is showing as having a vaccine uptake rate of 54.6%, the Brandon district being at 63.3%  
 
Of note from today’s media briefing, it was stated that over 70% of Covid hospitalizations in Manitoba are people who haven’t been vaccinated. Its with that in mind that Premier Pallister encouraged people to get vaccinated to be a good citizen.  
 
It was also stated that 43% of Covid patients (129 of 296 people) admitted to hospital as of Friday had not been tested for Covid before being admitted. If you have symptoms, please follow instructions at:
