my friend & I had our first shot June 7th .He thinks the next shot should be next week and I think 8 weeks who is right ?

Depends on what type the first dose was. If the first shot was astrazeneca then the 8 weeks is correct, that what is recommended. Pfizer or Moderna 28 days (one used to be 21 days but I believe they changed it to keep things simpler).  
But they're only up to first shots on May 31st or before as of today so June 7th won't be eligible to book until maybe later this week and then odds are it will take a couple weeks to get an appointment.

You are eligible to schedule a second dose mRNA appointment (regardless of which vaccine you received for their first dose - Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca) IF you received you first dose on or before May 31, 2021. This date is updated regularity so keep an eye out for when you become eligible. If you received AstraZeneca, it is advised that you wait 8-12 weeks before receiving Moderna/Pfizer

nephew got Pfizer May 22 got 2nd Moderna June 22 when booked they checked his dates so did nurses at supersite no issues.
