Gastric Bypass Surgery

I know there is a group in Brandon that get's together once a month for this topic. These are people who have had or are going to have gastric bypass. I found out today that the waiting list for a consultation is 3 years, the surgery could be as long as 2 years after the consult. The people I've talked to have no regrets about having the surgery, they just wish they could have done it sooner. Any thoughts on this subject?
