Traditional Gender Roles
3/6/2009 at 11:05 AM
An open discussion has recently got me thinking. So instead of turning away from the original poster's intent I decided to create a new discussion.
Traditional gender roles can be sexist because they lack the support for those that do not occupy traditional roles. Limiting them either to particular roles or exposure to sexism.
People behave in ways that suggest that they endorse these traditional roles by engaging in gender roles and parttake in backlash against those who violate these gender roles.
What impacts your own opinion (family values, religion, media, equality, etc.)and where do you stand?
