Dental Insurance

I was wondering if anyone has gone through a claim for dental insurance for an accident. My plan is Sirius and I have extended health care benefits which cover a percentage for dental procedures. Dental accidents are 100% unlimited if it is incurred as a result of adental accident or an accidental blow to sound natural teeth. Accident does not include damage made by an object wittingly or unwittingly placed in the mouth. Anyways, I slipped and fell and banged my mouth against a metal corral fence and badly chipped two teeth. My teeth now have to be capped at an expense of about $3,200.00. I think that this should fall under "dental accident" but my dentist said that it is very hard to get insurance companies to pay this so not to count on it. Has anyone out there had to deal with a dental accident and did your plan cover it.
