Do you fear death?
3/21/2009 at 8:16 AM
Huge topic last night. Out of five of us, I was the only one "ready to go". Asked to explain "ready to go", I merely stated that I have lived a good, fun, full life and if I died tomorrow, I would regret nothing (next to nothing actually-work in progress lol). Every day that I wake up alive is a great day.!
I was told that "being ready to die" was a morbid thought. I disagreed and explained that I don't entice death but reality dictates that it is inevitable...for everyone. Denial won't allow you to live here forever. I have examined my own mortality and my conclusions are my own. I do not fear death but I would like the end to be painless (but I'll take what I'm dealt lol).
I have no particular religious beliefs that have any bearing on my thoughts of death-just beliefs that I have formed on my own.
So, do you fear death? Or are you afraid of being dead? Do you discuss death or find the topic uncomfortable/inappropriate? Has your upbringing or your religious beliefs had any effect on your thoughts of death and dying? As you've aged, have your thoughts on dying changed? Have your thoughts changed after experiencing loss?
Just wondering what others think about death and dying (because apparently I'm morbid lol).
Also., last night I took a "death test" and I'm going to live to 91! lol
Laugh big. Regret nothing.
