Why do we always think that introducing a two tier system a mix of private/public is going to make services better for the public one? I just don’t see it. Where is the extra staff coming from as in doctors, nurses, techs etc.? Now maybe I’m a little jaded here BUT there are a lot of health professionals who are in it for the money. NOT ALL don’t get me wrong and I’m not saying workers in this particular field shouldn’t be paid well after all this is one of the more relevant occupations to say the least. When I say in it for the money I mean only the money and oh yes idolization is one of the perks. Let’s face it we tend to place our docs and nurses on a higher plain really now don’t we and some of them surely deserve it. But there are those who don’t. Private clinics will pay more to staff because they can afford to, public system can’t. So..more staff in private , less in public how is that going to make the public system better?
