My husband and I have been together for 10 years and just celebrated our one year anniversary. We have always known that we want to have children, but it's different for us.
I am the genetic carrier for something that can cause severe learning disabilities in our children. I have a 50% chance of passing it to our children. For that reason, IVF is a strong possibility for us (using a donor's egg-probably my cousin's- and my husband's sperm).
Has anyone else gone through IVF? What are the costs? Would this have to be done in Winnipeg? Any information or advice would be appreciated.
