Need Help For a Very Caring Project
3/25/2007 at 6:38 PM
I've just read an interesting story in Community News Edition. Connie Harvey has organized a group called " Security Blanket Providers " and I think its a great organization. They create unique quilts and blankets for kids who are in the middle of domestic violence and poverty situations.
I think a bouquet is what is called for for her.
Their web site is www.securityblankets.org
They are looking for new quilters, so if any quilters want to help out, check out her web page. They've also got branches in Moosomin, Virden, and Wawanesa. They're also hoping to raise awareness for funds for the project as quilting materials are quite costly.
This is a well needed enterprise as we all know how a child can get attached to a security blanket and for kids who are in the middle of domestic disputes and who are poor. This would offer them a semblance of the love and security they would need at that time of uncertainty in their little lives.
So by placing this on a thread here on eBrandon I'm hoping you guys will pick up that paper and read Connie's story and perhaps think of a way to help her out.
