Try physio

I have had headaches and migraines all of my life.
But daily headaches began after getting whiplash when I was about 18. I began going to the chiropractor which would help temporarily but found that often the adjustment would not take or would slip out within a day.
What I have found is physio works better to fully treat the issue - especially if you are finding neck and shoulder pain accompanies the headaches. It helps chiro adjustments stay "in" longer as it retrains your muscles. It helps your posture which could also be a part of the issue. Trust me - I know - the worse the headaches get, the worse your posture gets. When you are hit by these things, you do anything to be comfortable, even if it means cranking your neck to ridiculous directions.
My suggestion is to go to Dynamic Physio - they are the best in town I have found. They treat the whole issue, not just one piece of the puzzle. They don't try to upsell you by insisting you need to be there every two days (my guy is even saying I need to spread my appointments OUT farther), they don't isolate one area and make you do other initial consultation appointments for the adjoining areas - they attack the whole problem.
Year ago I went to another place in town and they refused to fix the neck at the same time as the shoulder/upper rib issue - they made me do two separate courses of treatment to address them. Of course my headaches never fully went away because the issues were related.
Another place in town would do a bit of heat, do a quick exam, then send you home after a 20 minute appointment with some do at home stretches.
Dynamic has been the best for understanding the whole issue. Even when my daughter had a second degree sprain, they treated the acute ankle injury, but saw ahead and began treating her knee, hip and lower back as well, knowing the trauma would have caused more chain reaction issues.
Of course get your blood pressure under control too - those meds can be really hard on your system.
Can't say much about acupuncture. Have tried the traditional practitioners and with physi treatments and I have not noticed any change for me. I did however have it with a persistent swollen ankle once and it took the nagging swelling down withing a day. For me, it works better with inflammatory reactions but not chronic headaches.
Just know there are lots of us out there with the skull crushing pain so we can empathize. Good luck.
