To jt, there are millions of perfect things in this world. Here are a couple of my examples - I hope they help you see perfection around you!

a gentle breeze on a hot day...

I don't think through this thread we had anyone suggest a physician-assisted death. That is a better term than suicide.

I think the term should be Physician Assisted Death because the life is also at the stage where it would be classified as physician assisted in so many ways that the only thing to counter it would be the opposite of life which is death.  
 
To just remove the medical treatments and machines would leave the patient in pain and suffering for days, starving to death and dehydrating. The procedure is to remove that pain and suffering which for me is not suicide but "the removing of pain and suffering."  
 
For those that still believe that suicide is a sin, I will not support a law that says you have to take this route. Hopefully, with the discussion being had across the nation, palliative care will become a viable option for many.

because I suffer sever treatment resistant depression and anxiety. I have spent time in CAP, lost my job, and both my husband and I are so frustrated over this whole illness.  
 
I worked for 22 years at the same company and the stigma surrounding mental illness was awful. Through all of this I heard the word suicide far to often. I have two aunts who committed suicide - that is suicide. I jut like a different name for Doctor assisted.  
 
I am on the mend and ready to start looking for a new job, will I tell my potential employer I suffer mental illness, probably, even though I don't have to, but I am just too honest and like to see their reaction.

First off topic but wtf palliative care is available for anyone as long as the hospital has beds. Two doctors have for a long time helped patients along because the pain medication also slows things like breathing and heart rate. I know this because it's happened with someone I love. Do I think it's wrong? No, because when someone is that bad off why would you want to make them continue to suffer? Oh and 3rd DNRs in care homes are labelled so that it's easy to find the info and don't seem to have stipulations, that's why health care directives are better. They allow for stipulations and details.  
As for the labelling of things it's all schematics and buzz words. No matter what you call it, there will always be a stigmata. So for those with health care directives, good for you, they are very helpful and need regular updates.
