Hey there people of eBrandon,  
 
I was wondering if anyone in town offered reasonably priced (lower the better) one-on-one French lessons. I am fairly inexperienced and would need plenty of patience and guidance. I hope to learn conversational French, and eventually be able to write in French.  
 
I have tried some app's on my phone but I feel they are hindering my actual pronunciation. I attempted to speak a couple of words in French to a few friends who frequent Quebec, and they both shook their heads in confusion...  
 
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

have you tried contacting 233-ALLO and asking them? The SFM usually have groups in areas that will meet frequently for coffee or whatever.. maybe they can guide you. Brandon use to have a group. Maybe they would know better?

Honestly say I have never heard of such a group. What are they exactly? And what is the SFM?

SFM = Société Franco-Manitobaine

Rosetta Stone is amazing and the audiolingual feature (you need a mic and it judges your pronunciation) is incredibly accurate! I would highly recommend it!

I've found there are very few major resources, like pimsleur and rosetta stone, that have any focus on Canadian French. There are enough differences that feels discouraging to be learning Parisan French.

How long of s process did Rosetta Stone take for you?
