Does anyone out there know of a Dr. in Brandon who will give a cortisone injection for pain relief. My Dr. won't, but said he would refer me to another Dr. for it. Its been weeks now and still no call or letter from refferred Dr.

id phone his office and see if the referral has been sent and to whom so you can call them, maybe might get somewhere sooner

I did call and apparently the Dr.'s office received my referral letter over a month ago and still hasn't even read it yet. Too busy. So I'll be looking at weeks of waiting still. I guess I'll just have to go to Winnipeg to a sports injury clinic (hopefully my doc will refer me there)

There is a pain clinic that runs out of the Brandon hospital. Dr Wong is the only doctor so it can take awhile to get in and you have to be referred.  
Once on his list, you will get regularly scheduled appointments. He and his team are fantastic! A bit slower than the pan am clinic in Wpg but it does save a trip!  
 
I was sent to him when it first opened so it didn't take too long but I think the last I heard, it was something like a 12-18 month wait?? I do have a bad memory so that might not be accurate but pretty sure that is what I was told lol. I also believe they are looking for another doctor to help alleviate the need in Westman!

I'd call the Dr you were referred to and ask how long the wait would be. If it's too long I might drive in to the Pan Am walk-in clinic in Wpg. I know of people who have done this. You want to go early, and go prepared to wait all day, but you might get somewhere faster.

If you go to Pam AM, be there when the door opens. This way, you know you will get a spot and it won't be an all day wait. This is the advice I got, and it is worth listening to!
