Rockin the Fields
4/11/2008 at 11:30 AM
There has been a number of e-Brandon users ask us to set up a group in here to keep them up to date with some of the happenings at Rockin' the Fields of Minnedosa. So here it goes!
We will try to let you get an idea of what we are about, what to expect at the show, and who will be performing. Full details will be available at rockinthefields.ca.
Rockin’ the Fields of Minnedosa is a non-profit cooperative that was formed to save the August long weekend concerts that had been occurring up at the lake in Minnedosa. Two previous attempts at the event by for profit groups came and went, and then a bunch of the fans decided to put it together themselves. Our goal is simple – make it sustainable, make it grow, and make it a quality event in all ways.
This is our fifth consecutive year coming up in 2008, and to date we have reached the goals. We are please to offer a 4 day and night rock and roll party with bands like Jerry Doucette, Honeymoon Suite, Loverboy and Colin James. There is a 9 band Rock Off being held on Thursday July 31, and there is a good representation of local bands such as FUGR, 18 Rabbit, Filthy Lucre, The Knockout, Tangle Box and Jezebels Kiss that will be performing throughout the weekend. There are additional headliners, opening acts and tribute bands to be signed as well.
Tickets are $105 for the weekend (until May 30), for $50 you can have your campsite for up to 5 nights with room for the biggest trailer and group of people you can bring, day passes range from $25 to $50. They can be obtained at 1-888-330-8333 or through Ticketmaster.
Now, we are not going to ask Adam to let us make this our main promotional location, we have our website for that.
We appreciate that we are being allowed to let you know when something significant comes up, and we will try to answer any questions you might have.
So thanks Adam for letting us in here, and thanks to you e-Brandonites that asked us to come in.
And remember, Rockin’ the Fields of Minnedosa – we’ve got something for ya!
