Wondering what the number 1 is like to Wpg this morning? Any info out there?

Is snow covered and slippery. Visibility is poor in areas but traffic is still moving. I don't know what it would be like with this wind between portage and wpg. But I'd imagine probably whiteout conditions in places.

According to the government website, it's partially covered with reduced visability. Looks like most conditions were updated between 6:30-8:30ish, probably when the highways guys headed out for the day.  
 
Judging from the cameras, it looks like it would be pretty much what you'd expect and agrees with the above reports - partially covered, travel lane appears to be open, reduced visability. You can see camera stills if you click on the little camera pictures on the map at the link posted above.  
 
A incidental note for those who complain the road conditions aren't updated 24/7 - you can get a sense, at least during daylight, of the conditions by looking at the cameras for the general region you're in. Imperfect, but better than nothing.

I look at the cameras all the time. Just because it says last update could have been last night if nothing has changed why bother updating? Snow covered is snow covered. Doesn't matter if reported at 7am or 11am.

I came to Carberry. Roads were decent but visibility was not great. Some areas of white out conditions where the highway wasn't tree lined. At times, vehicles were going about 80kph just because of blowing snow.

Some ice covered areas in passing lane and in both lanes from Camp Hughs to #5.
