So this year I decided to keep track of very windy days since it was windy on good Friday . The myth was that if it was windy on Good Friday you would receive 40 days of wind throughout the summer . So far by my count we are up to 24 and only in mid June . My question is why don’t we have solar wind machines here like they do just east of Minot ? I would think we certainly get enough windy days for it to pay off .

Do you mean wind turbines? We have both to the west of us (just over the SK border, near Moosimin) and south east of here.  
 
You just can't plunk them anywhere, however.  
 
I think Manitoba, generally, is less motivated to use alternative sources of energy because we use primarily hydro-electricity, which is relatively clean (although by no means low-impact).

The cost is very high...... And you will get people complaining not in my back yard.
