isn't that 3 tornados/warnings this summer? It's getting nuts, are we turning into the states tornado alley now? Warned family in the areas....

Sounds like some phones in Brandon got the tornado warning for "this coverage area" for 7:09pm. City itself seemed to have had a bit of a horseshoe on this one with sun on one side and black clouds downstream on the other. Storm developed super quickly right over us to the point where EC put out a severe storm warning for Brandon on it that was since dropped. Looks like its doing most of its damage to the North and Northwest... hope folks in those areas are alright. Brandon is still under a Severe Thunderstorm watch and with the way tonight's going I trust no cloud until that watch is off!

If memory serves, the tornado belt gradually shifts north as the summertime progresses.

If there is something that the past month has taught me, it's that this city has A LOT to learn when it comes to how to react to a tornado warning. It is NOT the time to continue running around and casually doing errands as though nothing is happening.

And businesses . . . you NEED to have a severe weather action plan in place.

I don't know how widespread this issue is. But some local merchants . . .REALLY need to get their act together.
