In case some may not know blizzards are worse than any winter storm.  
 
All the ones that I have lived through 6 decades shut everything down. I mean everything. Roads businesses buses everything no one can move. If you are stuck anywhere you are stuck for a long time.  
 
Please do not drive anywhere especially highways and rural roads. If you are stay in your car never leave it. Watch that your exhaust stays in plugged or monoxide poisoning can kill you. Have emergency kit etc in car.  
 
Better yet stay home. Nothing is worth dying for.

One of the worst blizzards I saw was when went to put baby in car. There was no snow at end of April. My car was actually rocking back and forth in its parking spot due to wind. I phoned in and canceled my shift.  
 
By evening the snow and visibility was so bad. It was awful.

We actually just had a blizzard warning recently when the highways closed.

That was a pretty weak blizzard! I understand it likely still fit the criteria, but definitely wasn't a showstopper by any means!

The highway from Erickson to Brandon is fine. Have no idea why it says it's closed. Especially when we had that last storm I couldn't see past the hood of my truck...... Whoever closed it needs to find a new job.

I think there had been an accident up that way that made it impassible. It's reopened now.

It was pretty bad on the Saskatchewan border area. Couldn’t see a thing all day.

Did not seem like much here (just east of Brandon) but I've seen photos from other areas and yeah, with poor visibility and/or snow drifys on the roads, it did make some very bad conditions in places.

Like school closures. Use to happen only if bus couldn’t drive on the roads.  
 
Cold didn’t count no matter what the temperature you still had to go to school.  
 
Highways were rarely closed.  
 
I think the days of heavy fog on the highways when you can’t see a thing and don’t know if there is a car in front of you or behind you are more candidates for road closures than some winter closures.

Rain started in evening then now snowing.  
 
Icy for sure with it covered with snow.

The Trans Canada highway is closed going both east and west of Brandon.

More like a blizzard. Lots of snow now in Douglas.  
 
Wind so high we can hear in the house blowing trees etc.
