Was thinking of reducing my monthly payment and Koodo seems reasonable. How is their coverage and customer service? Do they have any kiosk or stores in Brandon?

Have been with Koodo out here in Neepawa for about 7 years now and couldn't be happier.. Great coverage wherever I go. And the big plus is it's inexpensive.. I pay $40.00/mth.. Free Unlimited phone anywhere anytime in Canada

Koodo is one of the best options to go with if you're bringing your own phone. They have a plan (not listed on website but it exists for MB customers) where you get Unlimited Canada talk time (24/7 - no long distance charges), Unlimited text messaging to anywhere in the world (from Canada) and 8GB of data for $45/month.  
 
Their service is the best in Brandon area as they use Telus towers in Brandon and automatically use the same towers as BellMTS/Rogers in rural areas so you have service everywhere you go in Manitoba, as well as good service outside of Manitoba as well.

I can't wait to get out of Rogers and check out Koodo! Thanks everyone.

Where did you find the plan for Manitoba? I talked to them at the shoppers mall but they referred me to the Koodo website. I don''t see any 8GB plans for $45.  
Btw, are their data service that good? I normally travel north along Hwy 10 towards Dauphin area. Will I get good service? I noticed my Rogers phone gets cut off along hwy 10 between Brandon and Minnedosa.

I had Koodo when I lived in Winnipeg. I really liked it as it was cheap and had the same reception as the others. When I moved to Brandon 2 yrs ago. Koodo had very poor signal in the alaska bay area and had little to none signal at my work place. It used EXT network when we went to clearlake and places outside Brandon. LTE service is also limited outside town. You would think they are using the same cell towers as Telus but it seemed like they don't. Or maybe just some of them. I'm no expert to this and this is only based on my experience. But this was 2 years ago, there are probably changes now.

If it was before the completion of the BellMTS merger, then an experience two years ago would be useless. The Koodo (and Public Mobile) networks are exact match for Telus, which expanded to full BellMTS coverage after the merger.  
 
We moved to Winnipeg 2.5 years ago and got Koodo phones. The first few months the coverage off of the Trans-Canada was not great. For example, most of Highway #2 was spotty. After the tower switch-on its pretty solid.  
 
We're on prepaid and get full coverage. If you do not need very much data or voice, Koodo prepaid is pretty good. If you need more talk time, but not much data, then Public has some pretty good prepaid plans. Our Koodo plan is $13.50 per month for unlimited text since we have a registered credit card. We bought data and talk add-ons that just roll over every month as long as we keep current. For someone that texts mostly, it's the best deal in Canada

Koodo AND Public Mobile are both Telus discount brands.
