This is an unresolved, ongoing dispute in my world.

When not charging your phone is it okay to leave the charger cord plugged jnto the wall? Thoughts, opinions, data? Does it matter?

When I was growing up you were not to leave an appliance or cord plugged in that was not in use . It was deemed an electrical hazard. If you left a room for even a few minutes you were to shut off the lights to save electricity and we never left outdoor lights on.
I still hate leaving cable TV and internet boxes turned on when I’m not using them.
No one seems to worry about it anymore.

I leave my charge cords plugged in mostly so I know where they are. Though there is a bit of power draw, ide be more concerned about things like TV boxes and modems.

And even in that area, I think the picture is far better than it used to be. I looked into the power consumption of DVRs a few years ago (I was curious), and some drew a ridiculous amount of power on an ongoing basis.

I'm not sure how practical this is; but I have an electric hub that includes USB ports. Now phones and tablets can just be plugged into the USB ports instead of using the brick. It still might make a bit of a mess if you group them together, but I'm not sure if that's any less hazardous then having power bricks lying around.
