Texting between Virgin and MTS phones.

I have recently noticed that you can text from an MTS phone to a Virgin phone and they get your message, but when a virgin user replies the messsage appears sent but the MTS user never gets the message. Does anyone know anything about what is going on and is there a way to fix it?
