MTS or Rogers?

I haven't had a cell phone since November 6th and I think I'm going to get a new one. But I just don't where I should go... I've been wanting to go back to MTS but then I have people telling me that I should go to Rogers, they're really good, affordable. Then on the other hand I have people telling me that Rogers will screw you over and you will end up paying outrageous amounts on your cell phone bills. And I would like a contract.. I had a contract with MTS and had no problem with it, but if I'm going to be getting 300$ phone bills I will have a problem with it lol!
Has anyone had a contract with both of them? Obviously not at the same timme. Thanks in advance to anyone that replies.
