Blackberry Pearl with MTS?

I didn't know where to go to ask this quesiton, so I'm just going to ask it here. I am on the student plan at MTS. And I recently lost my phone, so im looking into buying a new one, and I found one on here for pretty cheap. So is a blackberry Pearl. And I was just gonna activate it with my student plan and keep paying the same amount. But someone said that with blackberries, you need to pay more, or get a different plan. If anyone could help that would be so great! I dont know what I should do? Cause MTS is closed, and I need to know today.!
