MTS phone selection

Why does MTS have such a terrible selection of phones? Or it it just that all the phones are so "high-tech" these days that those are the only kind of phones you can get. I just wanted a simple flip phone, with the regular old keypad, like I've always had. But there's no such thing.
So I really had no choice but to settle for a Blackberry. Ugh.
