Looking at switching to Rogers Cell service and their house service. House service is 10.00 a month. Anyone have any bad encounters

Interesting question. I keep getting offered that option too. And have yet to decide.

its sounds like good deal. you save 900.00 a year. But sounds to good.

I think I pay $30.00 a month right now so that would be $240.00 savings for me. No long distance though.

We have Rogers cells and Rogers home phone. No problems. Free calls in Canada for both.
Also if you are an average internet user (no Netflix or movie downloads) you can just tether to your cell phone (hook phone to pc or laptop) for free internet.

i get this right there is a unit you pay $40 once and plug in to outlet but i am not sure how good reception is especially on rainy or stormy days. You can carry that unit anywhere you go but $10 a month sounds i am hesitating too because nothing is too good, often a trap to it.

I have had it for a couple of years its great so far it has long distance.we use the long distance to phone friends an family in Vancouver,Edmonton an Winnipeg you buy the base unit when you go on the contract 40 bucks I think. the cool thing is if you have a cabin you take base unit with you an just plug it in an use it like your at home

This sounds like the same set up as Westman Communications and their phone lines.

I have Westman phone now and I didn't have to purchase a base. And the home phones I use are my own. The only thing I remember about this offer was that you got to keep your number but had to pay a one time hookup fee. Might have been $40.00

didn't know westman communitcation has similar offer than Rogers. One thing for Rogers home phone is you cannot use it for fax, about westman I don't know.

I have had a Rogers home phone for a year now.. Its great .. Can phone any where in Canada.. call display call forwarding and voicemail.. For $10.00 a month.
