I was paying 29.00/month for internet for last 2 years and was shocked to find my bill was 75$ after MTS merged with Bell.  
As a student, this price is more than what I can afford/budget.  
What internet providers are there that offer student rates?  
Mts/bell offered me 37$  
Which I’m wondering if the service has gotten worse and cost of living is higher but wages haven’t gone up then why is the cost of internet?  
I feel like I’ll never get ahead with cost of schooling going up as well  
Please point me to cheap internet so I can finish school.

Is your best bet. You won't find it cheaper than $29/month. They switched you to $75 regular rate because your 2-yr student promotion with them ended. This also happened to me. Call them and ask to apply a new promotion because you are still a student. They will ask you where you study (has to be in MB) and your student ID number.

I have to agree with the previous comment Westman cable is so much more reliable and way faster. Guess I'm old school Westman Communications Group I mean.

It wasn''t the Bell MTS merge that made your internet cost go up. Your 24-month student plan would have expired. I was in the same boat. I paid $60 for internet alone after my student plan expired. Now since the Bell MTS merge and a year''s time, I pay $80. Unfortunately I''m deciding to cut off cable because I can''t afford $80 each, especially when all the TV shows I watch are available online a few days later.  
 
Also, most providers only offer a limited time offer at a cheap rate and then once those 12 months or whatever expire, it goes back up to around $60 I think.
