I am not being paid to check my own purchases, therefore I refuse to use them anywhere. As for the cameras, the reasoning is self explanatory. In a public setting, there should be no expectation of privacy. " |

I've never noticed the cameras but I've never used the self check outs. People need jobs and I don't want to contribute to the elimination of them. " |

I don't use them for the same reason, while they are convient for some and some people like them, I do agree they do take away jobs from people who could use that job. I prefer dealing with a cashier. Myself I can't be bothered with FB, Instagram etc...good for some people and businesses/self emplyed, following Fan sites, etc, but my family/friends can visit/call/write if they want to talk to me lol Happy there are more cashiers than selfcheckouts " |

Hypocrites.
I can pretty much guarantee that at some point in your lives you've: Used an ATM, pumped your own gas, gotten take out in a place that delivers, used an online medium for free for information on local events (wink wink), streamed videos, or even used a big box retailer when you could have bought local.
I bet none of those things bothered you though did they? " |

would you resort to calling two of us you named in your post hypocrites? Diff people like/do diff things and if some of us choose to not use the quick checkouts, so what? It's called a difference of opinion. What does takeout, atms:, online use be it info, videos etc or a grocery store vs local market got to do with it? Using these things and not using self checkouts or some social media, doesnt make someone a hypocrite. Please dont judge me when you've never met me or the other people who choose to not use the selfcheckouts. You're entitled to your opinion, free speech just like anyone else, but calling us hypocrites was rude and uncalled for. " |

2. "What does takeout, atms:, online use be it info, videos etc or a grocery store vs local market got to do with it?"
Well you quoted this response:
"I've never noticed the cameras but I've never used the self check outs. People need jobs and I don't want to contribute to the elimination of them."
Now what do those things have to do with it you ask? Those things all conform to the loss of jobs by automation. Complaining about one while willingly using others because they suit you makes you a hypocrite.
