Seller Doesn't Ship to Canada

So, I found something I would like to buy on eBay but the seller (located in the US) does not ship to Canada. Does anybody have any experience using a third party that has the item shipped to them in the US and then they ship it to Canada? Or would it be better to ask the sender to send it via Puralator (or something similar)

You can ship stuff to them, then go across the line to pick it up. They are located just south of the Peace Gardens in North Dakota. I know they have a FB page, and likely a web-site with all the details. Lots of people use them.

You will need gov't issued PHOTO ID if you are driving across. Like Driver's license, etc.

If someone goes for you, they will need to have a copy of the receipt or purchase invoice to clear it at the border and pay appropriate duty and/or taxes when coming back to Canada.

I used a service called "Shipito" (https://www.shipito.com/en/) last year to ship me something that couldn't be purchased on a Canadian site.

It worked well. It's not super cheap, but without any other reason to go to the US, it was roughly a wash for cost vs driving to Dunseith and paying the Border Services.

I've used Shipito. I used to have an account with them when the dollar was at par. They are reliable and worth using for smaller items or one-off items that don't justify a two hour journey and gas to go to Border Services. Border Services are great for large items or multiple items, but for the odd one-off I just use a re-shipper like Shipito.

but you can also have it Hold For Pick Up at the depot in Bottineau. We get all of our Old Navy etc sent to the NAPA in Bottineau doesn't cost anything. You can justify the drive by using it as an excuse to go to Dennys Pizza next door.

Do not know how much you shop online but there are website that will not ship in Canada at all USA only shipment also some item you really want is on ebay.com located in the states.

Border Services charge $5 for first item and $3 for any extra packages.

It would likely cost me more than $5 to drive to Bottineau and back but then Dennys Pizza

I've run into this a few times on Amazon, particularly with what looked to be VERY fairly priced watch batteries and Jump starter kits (rule of thumb, anything containing a battery). You don't find out until you try and pay for it that it's considered hazmat and as such can't ship internationally.

Likely an issue of my own doing, but still annoying.
