Does anyone know what will be open on Canada Day and July 2nd this year?

Open Sunday aft, closed Monday. All government offices, including postal delivery closed Monday.

Manitoba and New Brunswick

Manitoba and New Brunswick are the only 2 Provinces affected by this year’s weird hours and closures during this long weekend.

Generally, if it normally would be open on Sunday, it will be open Canada day this year. If it normally would be closed on Canada day (most shopping, banks, government offices), it will be closed on Monday.

Anyone working on July 1 this year will get paid like any other day. If you work on July 2 (Monday), you will get Stat pay.

Then why is Transit closed for July 1st but open July 2nd then? Need service to get to do things when things open but cabs are too expensive.

City council needs to reevaluate the holiday schedule regarding Canada Day next year...

the city cannot afford to run buses every holiday.

Next year normal

Next year, Canada day will be on the Monday. So if the city was going to shut down transit (which I don't think they should - but that is a different discussion), it would be on the holiday, Monday July 1, 2019. As for this year, they probably didn't realise this year was different than normal.
