Its a new statutory holiday for employees in federally regulated workplaces.

Post office,banks,universities, daycares, schools, via rail etc

Most of us will be working as usual .

Office personal and any other organization who take statutory holidays off, will also have this day off as well.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation – As per the MB employment Standards website:

September 30

The Manitoba government is recognizing the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on September 30 as a day of observance. It is not a general holiday: therefore, there are no restrictions limiting a businesses ability to be open on that day and no requirement to pay employees general holiday pay. Normal wage rates would apply to employees who work on September 30, 2021.

I work in an office and my employer is not closing that day, so we will be working.

My employer has chosen not to recognize this as a holiday as well. Normal business for us.

I believe most provincial jobs are closed as well.

Like others have said, my office takes all Stat holidays off. We are open on September 30th, it’s not a stat.

Yes the mall would be open. Again, it’s not a stat holiday. It’s comparable to Easter Monday
