The longest we've ever had a coffee pot last is a year and a half.  
 
We brew 1-3 pots a day, clean once a week with vinegar, paper filters, baskets, paper filters and baskets at the same time, and no matter what - the thing will be dead in a year.  
 
We've tried cheap ones, more expensive ones, all with the same result.  
 
Does anyone have any reccommendations for a quality coffee pot that I may gift my parents for Christmas that will tide them over for more than a year?! Any brands with lifetime warranties?
