Shopping for pillow cases

Okay, yes I will completely admit I am domestically challenged (but getting better). I have never bought pillow cases before cause they always came in my bed-in-a-bags or were given to me by my mom. So yesterday when I went looking all I could find was like $7 ones. Is that how much they cost? Any ideas on cheaper ones? At that rate I could sew my own. I need to find four matching and not for $28.
